Monrovia, Liberia – 12/04/2025 – Help a Mother and Newborn Initiative (HMNI) is excited to announce a new date for its upcoming Sip and Paint fundriasing event in celebration of maternal health and rights. Originally scheduled for April 12, 2025, the event will now take place on Unification day, May 14, 2025. The event, designed to raise both funds and awareness for maternal health, will focus on the empowerment of women and young mothers in rural Liberia.

The event, which will be a celebration of art, community, and the fight for maternal health rights, will feature an engaging painting session with participants coming together to create art, enjoy refreshments, and contribute to an important cause. Attendees will be supporting HMNI’s EmpowerHer Journey Program, a pivotal initiative aimed at improving the lives of young mothers and Community health Volunters in Margibi County.

“We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our community, but ticket sales for the original April date were slower than anticipated,” said Lela Precious Dolo, Co-Founder and Executive Director of HMNI. “In order to give more people the opportunity to join us and contribute to this vital cause, we’ve decided to postpone the event to May 14. We truly believe this event will make a lasting impact in raising funds and awareness for maternal health, and we’re counting on the support of more community members to make it a success.”

Why This Event Matters

Each ticket purchased will directly contribute to EmpowerHer Journey, which supports first-time pregnant women and young mothers in rural areas, providing them with crucial prenatal care, skill-building opportunities, and maternal health education. The Sip and Paint event is a unique opportunity for individuals to engage with a meaningful cause while enjoying the creative experience of painting.

HMNI’s programs have positively impacted the lives of hundreds of women, adolescents and newborns across Margibi and Montserrado Counties, but the need for resources and support is ongoing. This event will also serve as a reminder of the challenges women in rural areas face when it comes to accessing healthcare and the vital role that communities play in promoting change.

Ticket Information

Tickets for the event will be available until May 14, 2025. They can be purchased by reaching out to any member of the team. A variety of ticket options, including group packages, are available for those wishing to attend and contribute to the event’s success.
