From Zero Balance to Millionaire

We are excited to share that our co-founder, Lela Precious Dolo, emerged as the 2nd Momo Hero of Change among 6,000 individuals and has won an astounding 1.2 million Liberian Dollars!

This year, HMNI has been running on very limited resources, but our team’s dedication knows no bounds. Apart from receiving financial support of $500 US from DKT Liberia for our recent family planning outreach, we haven’t received any external support.

Every big belly or peer-peer club meeting we attended, Birthkits items/baby food we took to the health facilities or community engagement, the team spent their money on transportation. Not a single team member has ever received a dime since we started. Yet, their enthusiasm and eagerness to engage with the communities we serve remain unshaken. Their hearts are always filled with compassion, and they know that the impact they create is worth every ounce of sacrifice.

Quitting was never an option, not even for a moment. We held onto hope, believing that brighter days were ahead. Despite challenges, we forged ahead with strong determination and a vision for a better future.

We have been making plans/efforts to raise a targeted amount of 25K to sustain and expand our operation across Liberia next year. Now, we’re thrilled to share that winning this prize has already secured 6K! A tremendous achievement, but our journey isn’t over yet. To reach our goals and make an even bigger impact, we need to raise the remaining 19K.

We hope to continue working together.
